Dough wrapped around a falling rolling pin: the everyday analogy for Hane Makikomi
Dough wrapped around a falling rolling pin

Mechanic

Tori springs a bent leg up into uke's thighs, wraps an arm over uke's arm and back, and hurls their own rotating body toward the mat; uke is wound around tori like fabric around an axle and slammed down with them.

Analogy

A rolling pin spins off the edge of the kitchen counter with a sheet of dough stuck fast to it. As the pin tumbles, the dough wraps tighter around the barrel and rides it all the way down, slapping flat onto the floor still wound around the pin.

Why it maps

Tori's body is the rolling pin, a falling and spinning axle, and uke is the dough that can't let go, wrapped around the rotation and carried into the ground.
