Wave sweeps your feet seaward: the everyday analogy for Okuri Ashi Harai
Wave sweeps your feet seaward

Mechanic

As uke moves sideways and their feet come together, tori sweeps both feet along in the direction they were already traveling. Both legs sail away together, the body floats flat for an instant, then drops.

Analogy

You stand ankle-deep in the surf as a strong wave rushes sideways along the beach. It scoops both feet and carries them along together, and for one weightless moment you're lying flat on the air before you splash down.

Why it maps

The wave takes both feet at once in the direction the body was already drifting: the same 'send the feet on ahead' action, floating the body horizontal before it falls.
